Before joining the roofing industry, Maria spent seven years in the hospitality sector while pursuing her undergraduate and graduate degrees. Following that, she worked with the American Red Cross for 1.5 years as a Disaster Program Supervisor for Broward County, South Florida, where she gained extensive experience in crisis management, coordination, and community service. Maria’s background in the hospitality and emergency management sectors has equipped her with valuable organizational and customer service skills that she applies to her current role. Originally from Medellín, Colombia, Maria now resides in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She holds a Master's Degree in Emergency Management, a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, and a minor in Psychology—qualifications that contribute to her strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Maria is engaged and excited to marry her fiancé in 2025. She is a proud mother to her one-year-old daughter, Lily, and enjoys spending quality time with her family, including her beloved Westy dog, Thor. A self-proclaimed “water baby,” Maria loves going to the beach and engage in all things water-related. In her free time, she enjoys reading books, going to the gym, and watching crime shows and documentaries.
